Travel With Branding In Your Heart: Uban Ta

Live to travel and discover what the world is in store for you.BILL RINGER

I want to start by asking you two questions:
  1. How old are you now?
  2. Are the number of years of your existence already made you realize that you are happy?
At an early age, we are being taught to study hard and get good grades. For what purpose? To succeed in life, and to become successful in everything that we do. Having good grades can indeed help, but it’s not always the case. Some people become successful because they dare to push their limits. They have guts. Some people did not succeed because after their study they have lost their way. I cannot tell you their reasons for now, but I’m sure they have valid rationalization.
Why am I telling you that and this? Because we don’t need to get first a diploma to start traveling the world. We need funds to spend, to begin with, but money should not be a problem. Imagine yourself first discovering the world. Until such time, to travel more becomes your ultimate dream too. It took me 25 years before I decided to set forth to make my adventures. A silver year as I call it. I pushed myself to start, regardless of not having enough money. Money should not be an issue, it’s the simplest thing you can get. I mean, there are a lot of side jobs that you can do if you are into it. I said “ultimate dream” because it’s an investment to do so. We all exert efforts with corresponding costs to achieve our dreams. As for me, to travel is my ultimate dream. I can work anywhere in the world. You can have me anywhere.
Is my happiness connected in my travels? The answer is yes and no. “No” — I am happy now even I’m not on the road and busy exploring, and “Yes” — travel is one of the outlets for me to relieve stress. We all say that. My happiness is not defined by how far I have gone. But travel contributes to my happiness every time I learned about new cultures. It contributes to my happiness when I met new faces. It teaches me a lot. It always reminds me of who I was. I am a dreamer. Travel became my ultimate dream. The “travel” idea helps me redeem myself from stress and excites me again to do more.
Uban Ta Sa is a brand. In all my travel films, I make it a branding. It’s already part of every travel episode I have. Now, little by little, people who watched my vlogs, started saying “Uban Ta” or say “Mga Laagan“. What does “Uban Ta Sa” mean? It is a Visayan word that says, “Sama Tayo Sa” or in English “Let’s go to“. It fits the individuals who love to travel. While the word “Mga Laagan” is also a Visayan word which means “Mga Lakwatsero” or “The Wanderers”. I addressed my travel film viewers as Laagan. I want them to feel that they are with me at the moment: traveling, and discovering with me.
We are reaching the end folks, are you now willing to answer my questions? Whatever your answers and alibis are, I want you to know that your life decision is your ultimate friend. Do not blame yourself for having bad decisions in life. You can always renew and start again. For me, travel is my way. I hope you’ll find your way of living a happy life as well.

May the roads be good for us to meet soon! See you.
